The Fancy Bug flutters in a new direction
Friday, November 5th, 2010After a mission trip to Ethiopia in January 2010, the needs of our fellow humans have weighed heavily on my heart. I participated in a mission trip through Port City Community Church to Addis-Abbaba, Ethiopia, and worked with girls to teach basic business and marketing principles through craft projects that they could use to make money for themselves and their families. This experience was an eye opening one for me and not one I’m ready to speak about yet, but I have been moved and 10 months later, have decided to use the gifts God has given me and put my business in His hands.
As of Nov. 4, 2010, The Fancy Bug Paper Co. will be donating 100% of profits to missions in Africa benefitting children growing up in a world which gives them few opportunities to succeed. Through the generosity of our community members, The Fancy Bug commits to supporting the future generations of mothers, fathers, doctors, nurses, leaders, pastors, and missionaries who will carry with them the memory of the support from fellow humans across the ocean.
One of the current missions The Fancy Bug will support is Hope 127 “Helping Other People Everywhere” and James 1:27 inspired “The Kenya Project”, a sponsorship program for orphans and street children currently living at Mama Hellen’s Rehabilitation Center in Nakuru, Kenya.
The Fancy Bug will continuously seek new opportunities for other missions and projects. We welcome our customers’ suggestions, any time! If you would like your custom paper to include a line that lets the recipient know that their gift wrap proceeds directly benefit missions, we can do that!
I look forward to this new direction and hope that you will join me with your support. Below is a video from Addis-Abbaba, Ethiopia. It is an honest and accurate description of what I experienced while there.
‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘ plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’ Jeremiah 29:11
